Frequently asked questions
The essentials before you begin.
Here we gather the most common questions about classes, pricing, schedule, progression, and programs at Ittai Dojo.
Are classes for beginners?
Yes. Classes are designed for adults starting from zero and also for people returning to martial arts after several years away. Practice is built progressively.
Where are Kyokushin classes held?
Regular Kyokushin classes are live via Zoom. They are not recorded classes: you train at the same time as the instructor and receive guidance and corrections.
What is the schedule and time zone?
Regular Kyokushin classes are Monday and Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. All schedules published by Ittai Dojo are shown in Mexico City time.
How much does Kyokushin training cost?
Classes currently cost $100 MXN per class and there is no mandatory monthly tuition. You can pay after each class, prepay, or make a single monthly payment based on your actual attendance.
Can I train if I live outside Mexico?
Regular programs and progression or certification processes at Ittai Dojo are for people living in Mexico. If you live outside the country, we are happy to guide you, but Ittai Dojo does not offer a certification process for students residing in other countries.
Can Kyokushin exams be taken online?
Yes, from 10th to 7th kyu. From 6th kyu onward, exams require physical presence because they include sparring requirements. Virtual training does build real technical, physical, and mental fundamentals, but we prefer to be clear about the limits of online progression.
What do I need to train online?
A stable internet connection, comfortable clothes, and a small space where you can move safely. You do not need a home gym to begin.
Does Ittai Dojo offer self-defense?
Yes. We offer self-defense courses, sessions, and seminars for adults, including specialized formats for women. Availability and dates may vary.
Is there a Kobudo program yet?
Yes. Ittai Dojo is incorporating Matayoshi tradition Kobudo into its offering and is affiliated with the International Okinawa Kobudo Kazokukai (IOKK). The regular schedule is still to be announced, but you can already write to us to register your interest.
Can I try a class before continuing?
Yes. The first Kyokushin class is free. It is a chance to learn the format, meet the instructor, and understand the training dynamic before deciding.
